To cut down on allegations made by many HSC students about unfair assessment of Std XII exam papers, the Pune division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has started distributing photocopies of answer sheets to the students who applied for it after the results were declared a week ago.
"The HSC results were declared on May 30, and in the first two days as many as 235 students applied for a photocopy of their answer sheets of one or more subjects. All these photocopies are ready and we are calling every student to collect them from the board's office," said Satyavan Sonavne, joint secretary of Pune division of MSBSHSE.

The last date for applying for the photocopy of answer sheets is June 19 and the state board is making papers available by charging Rs 400 per subject. Till yesterday evening, around 1,500 students had applied for copies. According to board officials, the number of students opting for photocopy is much higher as compared to last year.
This year, for the first time, the board has introduced an option of re-evaluation of answer sheets. To avail this facility, students can apply for re-evaluation after receiving photocopies of their mark sheets.
"After getting a photocopy, a student has to take advice of his subject teacher. If the subject teacher gives the student a letter claiming that the re-evaluation is necessary, then we will go ahead with it," said an official.
"This is really a good move. I have applied for photocopy of two subjects on last Saturday. Till today I have not got any call but it will be good if I will get it in this week so that I can immediately decide whether re-evaluation is necessary or not," said Sadhana, an HSC student.
Rs 400 The amount to be paid per answer sheet, per subject
