It was no less than a scene from a Hollywood thriller. On Monday at noon, the driver of a Blueline bus fired at the driver of another bus while they both raced against each other near the Delhi-Noida border.
"It was a death race," said a passenger, as he stepped off the killer bus after the ordeal was over. Everyone sitting in the bus breathed a sigh of relief as it stopped.
The driver of the Blueline bus plying on route number 363, between Noida and the Interstate Bus Terminus at Kashmir Gate, fired at a driver of another crowded Blueline bus on route number 300 that overtook it near Delhi's border with Noida at Sector 14.
But the first driver didn't stop at just shooting at the bus. He halted his vehicle and stepped out with the pistol to shoot at the other driver again. Fearing death, the second driver ran towards the Noida police chief's office nearby.
Even while the police officials asked him to hold his fire, he shot at the driver again. When the police fired back, he ran and dumped his weapon in a gutter. But he was arrested.
"A case of murder was slapped against the accused identified as Lav," a cop said. The other driver was identified as Praveen. "No one was injured," added the official.
