A low intensity explosion in a State Transport bus at Manchar terminus, around 40 km from Pune, caused panic even as ATS team from the city rushed to the site to investigate.
Gelatin sticks were used in the device that had been kept under the back seats in the bus, which was stationary at the time of the blast, ATS inspector Peter Lobo told said.
None of the passengers was injured in the incident, however, the bus was partially damaged the inspector said, adding around six passengers were sitting in front rows at the time of the blast.
A 12ft wire that was connected with the gelatin sticks was noticed hanging out of the bus window, he said.

"We are carrying on parallel investigations with police to know whether it was a mischievous act aimed at creating panic or a handiwork of suspected elements," the ATS officer added.
