Bhutia donated Rs 1.20 lakh for the cyclone victims at a function in the Gymkhana Club in Darjeeling last night, organisers of the event said.
The soccer star auctioned three jerseys, including the one he wore during the Asian Football Championship 2008 and Nehru Cup in 2007, alongwith some autographed footballs, they said. Bhutia, who had recently won a dance competition, was accompanied by his choreographer Sonia and enthralled the audience by dancing a few steps.
He also assured to donate Rs 30,000 to his fan club in Darjeeling to organise a football tournament in the hills.
