Amid reports of top Maoist leader Kishenji being injured during anti-Maoist operations, West Bengal government today said there was no information regarding the elusive leader.
"We do not have any information regarding Kishenji," State's Chief Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty told reporters at Writers' Buildings here.
He said Director General of Police Bhupinder Singh has gone to West Midnapore district where Lalgarh is situated and joint forces have been conducting anti-Maoist operations.
Meanwhile, joint forces today picked up five persons including one quack Jagabandhu Mondal from Talpukuria village in Belpahari police station of West Midnapore district. Mondal allegedly treated an injured Maoist leader on Saturday night.

"He was detained for questioning. He was released later," a senior police officer said. Joint forces today continued search operations in villages like Banstala, Rasna, Lalgeria, Indrabani, Murabani and Akrasol in search of Maoists.
