Squabble broke out as students demanded alcohol after closing time
Four students were beaten up by the staff of a restobar at Akshya Nagar road around 11.45 pm last night.
The students, aged around 25 years, visited Akshya Bar after the closing hours and demanded alcohol.

But when the bar staff refused to give them alcohol, a squabble broke out between both parties. Soon the police was informed, who reached the spot and took them to the police station.
The cashier of the bar, who was at the police station, alleged that the boys abused them and started hitting the staff when they refused the students service.
The students who were beaten up by the bar staff at the KR Puram police station.
"We had no option but to hit them back to defend ourselves from the aggressive men," he said.
On the other hand, the students, allege that the staff at the bar was selling alcohol to others even after the closing hours.

"Seeing others buying liquor from the bar, even we went there. However, they denied giving us alcohol. When we asked the reason why they didn't want to sell us alcohol, they started hitting us with sticks."
One of the students sustained injuries to his head.
As a lot of people gathered at the spot, Rajesh, who lives near the bar, fired three rounds from his licenced revolver to disperse the crowd.
Inspector HG Tippeswamy from KR Puram police station said that a case has been registered and the incident is being investigated.
