Institute will also try for AIIMS status
The trauma centre of the SSL hospital at Banaras Hindu University will soon have a helipad and helicopter services to meet exigencies. Apart from this air-ambulance that will be available in the premises, the varsity will also improve its facilities so as to obtain an AIIMS status for the SSL Hospital.

This was stated by BHU vice-chancellor Lalji Singh, while addressing the media. He also talked about events from his own life while he was BHU student himself.u00a0 He said it was a great opportunity to serve his own university as a vice-chancellor.u00a0
Singh reiterated his commitment for uplift of facilities at SSL Hospital. He said he visited the trauma centre on October 29 to review and expedite the work. The V-C informed that apart from the helicopter services, BHU was also working to improve its facilities and obtain AIIMS status.u00a0
Another important development in the hospital is in the field of DNA-based therapy and diagnostic services. He said in the future, emphasis will be on promoting predictive and preventive medicine. He said Yoga and gym facilities will be provided post treatment and also expressed his intention to open the paid and evening OPD in the hospital once again.u00a0
