Though the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, the police officials suspect it to be an outcome of a family dispute.u00a0The accused was identified as Samadhan Kisanrao Jadhav, posted at the artillery section. The deceased was identified as Pratibha Jadhav (24).
"Samadhan first strangled his wife at 6 am on Saturday but told neighbours that she slipped in the bathroom and had fallen unconscious. The neighbours rushed her the AFMC hospital where she was declared dead on arrival," Senior Police Inspector Bajirao Mohite of Wanowrie police station.
Mohite said that based on the autopsy report, which revealed strangulation as the cause of Pratibha's death, Samadhan was arrested. u00a0"He has not confessed to the crime but has been remanded to two days of police custody. Our investigation is on," Mohite said.u00a0
