Several companies reworking their schedules to allow employees to catch the much-awaited India-Pakistan World Cup cricket match had the entire city up and about extra early yesterday.
The normal peak hour traffic the city is used to seeing is in the evening between 6 pm and 8 pm. Yesterday morning however, things turned topsy-turvy when peak hour moved between 6 and 7 am, and then again between 2 and 2.30 pm.

Since many companies had allowed employees to reach office by 7 am and clock out by 2 pm, the roads wore a deserted look to everyone's surprise.
"The rush was mostly between 6 to 7 am in the morning with people going to office. The rest of day was fine and it almost felt like a Sunday. Again, there was a little chaos around 2 pm when people were heading back," said A Muthanna, DCP, traffic.
