Students file complaint alleging that two members of AHA management threatened them
The ongoing stand off at Airhostess Academy (AHA) in Pune continues, as students of 2004 batch of 2008 have registered a complaint at Bundgarden police station.
According to the complain, two members of AHA management had approached them and asked them to collect certificates issued by the Institute, and not by Cambridge University as was promised earlier.
When students pointed this, the staffers allegedly threatened them to accept the certificates and sign an undertaking otherwise their chances of getting a job would be at stake.
In trouble
Mohini Bhilare, Vinita Barate, and Anshuman Kale had registered a complaint against Nitu Bhola and Havovi Bharucha, both working as a faculty at AHA's Dadar branch, for allegedly threatening them.
Bundgarden Police station registered non-cognisable offense against Bhola and Havovi under IPC 504 for insulting and IPC 506 for threatening the students. Bhilare and Barate have completed the course in June this year. Bhilare said, "We had gone there with great expectations but they were ready to issue only AHA certificates and not Cambridge as promised."
Full refund
Barate said, "To this we demanded a complete refund but then they threatened us that if we refuse to accept these certificates they would see that we would not get jobs."
Bhola and Bharucha both denied students allegations and claimed that they had come to Pune only to address the students' issues.
Bhola said," We have submitted soft copies of students emails to the police requesting us to issue certificates at the earliest."
Reacting on the undertaking Bharucha maintained that, "It is routine procedure in all our branches. We follow this practice to get the undertakings signed from students."
