Pune techie dies after falling from 12th floor flat, cops suspect suicide

A 30-year old Software techie woman was found lying in a pool of blood after falling from her 12th floor flat on Friday evening. Police suspect she committed suicide. The deceased has been identified as Pallavi Udyan Mujumdar (30), a resident of Park Street society, Kalewadi, Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune.

A case of suicide was registered with the Wakad police station late evening on Friday. Senior Inspector (Crime) Sunil Pinjan of Wakad police station said, ''Pallavi is married and has a one-year-old son. She lived in a joint family along with her in-laws and works in a Hinjewadi-based IT company. Pallavi's son was unwell and she had taken him to a clinic, and returned home around 4.30pm.''

Pinjan also added, ''later, around 5pm when her son was asleep and her mother in law was watching television, she jumped from the 12 floor balcony. She was rushed to a private hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Based on CCTV camera footage it seems like a case of suicide. However, the cause remains unknown. We are probing the case. ''
