In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man was killed in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district by a mob who thrashed him on suspicion of child lifting. According to news agency IANS, the deceased identified as Pratham Kumar was roaming around in Kati Pahari village when a mob caught him and thrashed him brutally on suspicion of child lifting.
According to the police sources, the villagers alleged that the deceased man Kumar had admitted to being a child lifter. After being thrashed by the mob brutally, Kumar was immediately rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment. Senior police officials from Dhanbad reached the village and detained three people. The police investigation is underway.

Aman Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Dhanbad (Rural) said, "The victim's body has been sent for post-mortem and the incident is being investigated."
The relatives of the deceased said that he was mentally unstable and was under treatment since 2010. According to the relatives, Kumar used to roam around villages and pick garbage. In another mob lynching incident which took place on Friday, a youth was thrashed by villagers in Bhuli locality of Dhanbad district on charges of child lifting. Later, he was admitted to a hospital where he was undergoing treatment.
Just a few days ago, a middle-aged person was beaten to death in Ramgarh district on suspicion of child lifting. Three people were detained in the case so far. On the other hand, six people were thrashed brutally in Koderma district on suspicion of child lifting on Tuesday.
