A total of 359 candidates from across the state cleared the prestigious Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exam conduced for class I officers' posts.

Commenting on the result, Tukaram Jadhav of Unique Academy said, "This is the first exam of MPSC held with the revised pattern. Thus, candidates have maintained high scores. The topper has secured 62 per cent marks."

But he added that for the first time this year MPSC has not got the required number of candidates for certain posts. "If you see the list of selected aspirants, MPSC has not found a female candidate (gen category) for the post of assistant commissioner of police (ACP).

Similarly, for deputy collector's post too the commission has failed to get a female candidate (ST category). That's why MPSC has no option but to appoint contenders from other categories on these vacant posts," Jadhav said. u00a0
