Anil Kumble, who was elected as the president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association last year has chosen to withdraw from the IPL auction that will be held on January 9 to10 after captaining the team for the last two seasons of IPL on account of his role in Cricket administration and other commitments.
With Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain pulling out of the IPL 4 auction, MiD DAY asks cricketers, prominent citizens and the ardent RCB lover the impending question, "Will RCB be the same ever again?"
RCB will certainly not be the same without him. He made the team what it was and brought it from nowhere into the second IPL under his captaincy. He is a very supportive captain, hears you out and gives you a lot of respect, not many captains do that. He will be missed. I hope this is not the last we see of Kumble in cricket.

As a player there is going to be a loss. He is not growing any younger through. It is a well-thought-out decision and I am sure he has other plans.

No. Certainly not. Kumble being missing is like a big piece of Bangalore being missing from the team. It will be a different team altogether.

It will not make much of an impact, the game is above all. He has been a consistent performer and a far better leader than Kevin Peterson. His presence will be missed but the game will go on.
