In a recent press briefing, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that if people did not follow social distancing rules, wear masks and use hand sanitizers, then the government would be forced to think of a second lockdown. About 37 lakh commuters have been traveling daily since February 1, when the Railways allowed the general public to avail the services of Mumbai locals. The number of commuters fined for not wearing a mask also increased over the period. The Mayor also hinted that with cases on the rise, the reopening of schools may be delayed.
