45-year-old Sakinaka rape accused convicted after 8 months

The 45-year-old accused in the Sakinaka rape and murder case has been convicted by Mumbai sessions court on Monday, 8 months after the brutal incident took place. The quantum of punishment will be announced on Wednesday. The incident, which shook the entire state, took place on September 10 last year on Khairani Road in Sakinaka

Loan app harassers trained by handlers sitting in Nepal: Mumbai Crime Branch

The investigation so far into the Kurar suicide case shows that the recovery agentsin India are trained to harass borrowers by their handlers in Nepal, officers of the Mumbai Crime Branch’s Cyber Cell said on Thursday. Police arrested Raju Bhanwarlal Khadaw last week after his harassment drove a Kurar resident to suicide. While he has not revealed much about his handlers, police are using the data recovered from his phone for further probe.

Mumbai: Model accuses Bandra hostel owner of trying to drug her

The owner of Horn Ok Please hostel at Bandra West was arrested by the Bandra police on Sunday for allegedly spiking an ice cream with weed oil and serving it to a fashion model and television actor. The actor, who had to be admitted to a hospital and is still under meditation, told mid-day that the accused had done it with an ulterior motive

Seven hurt as Kenyan goes on attacking spree with knife at Oval Maidan

Seven people were injured after a Kenyan national went on a stabbing spree at Oval Maidan near the Bombay High Court on Wednesday, said police. Police said the attacker, John Menty, was under the influence and used a sharp object to attack random pedestrians. 

Mumbai: Asked not to drink liquor in the open, 3 Navy men beat up two persons

Three Navy sailors were arrested for allegedly thrashing two persons who objected to their consuming liquor in the open in south Mumbai's Fort area, a police official said on Thursday. The incident took place at around 9:30 am near Hansraj Damodar building on Wednesday, he said.
