In his address, Thackeray expressed pride in his family's political legacy, countering Prime Minister Modi's criticism of dynastic politics. He highlighted the importance of acknowledging one's roots, contrasting it with leaders like Hitler, Putin, and Saddam Hussein, whose family histories remain shrouded in mystery.
Throughout his speech, Thackeray took aim at both the state government led by Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis, as well as the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the center, criticizing their governance and political strategies.
Thackeray also touched upon the Maratha reservation agitation and the challenges faced by farmers. He condemned the lathi charge on Maratha protesters and emphasized the importance of peaceful protests to address their concerns.
The former Chief Minister raised concerns about the crop insurance scheme and alleged connections between insurance companies and government officials. He urged Shiv Sainiks to stand in solidarity with farmers and avoid resorting to violence, instead advocating for peaceful protests to highlight their grievances.
Thackeray questioned whether Mumbai's status as the financial capital of India was being diminished, with assets and projects being relocated to other states. He expressed concerns over Niti Aayog's involvement and a guardian minister's ties to the construction industry, raising questions about future developments in the city.
Thackeray addressed the issue of Dharavi redevelopment, expressing the desire for redevelopment but with a focus on community benefit rather than lining the pockets of a select few. He hinted at potential profiteering in the project.
On a lighter note, Thackeray's party leaders asserted the authenticity of their Dussehra rally compared to a rival event, humorously dubbing the latter as "fake as a Chinese product." They also critiqued the government's leniency toward corruption, urging strict actions against those who allegedly betrayed the party for financial gains.
