Alongside the religious and cultural festivities, various places organise competitions as such creative expression of devotion during Navratri.

Navratri, a nine-day festival that celebrates different forms of Ma Durga, signifies devotion to the powerful female energy and embodies moralistic themes found in Hindu festivals.

The essence of Navratri lies in the message of good prevailing over evil, virtue over misdeed, and the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana.

People observe the nine days of Navratri with devotion, culminating in the grand celebration of Vijayadashmi or Dussehra on the tenth day.
