As the country celebrates 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' marking the 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoisted the national flag and delivered the customary address to the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray during flag hoisting ceremony at Mantralaya on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. Thackeray called upon citizens to take a pledge to together overcome the Covid-19 crisis. "Let us all resolve together that we will make Maharashtra and the country pandemic-free so that we can celebrate next Independence Day without masks and with much zeal and enthusiasm," he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the Tricolour to mark the nation's 75th Independence Day at the historic Red Fort. In his address, he paid tributes to the "great freedom fighters of the country" and called for "sabka prayaas" in guiding India to the path of development and prosperity.
