On Friday, Mumbai witnessed heavy rainfall, as predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has alerted about 'moderate to heavy rainfall' in the city and its suburbs and the possibility of "very heavy to extremely heavy" showers at isolated places on July 1.

Mumbai received moderate to heavy rainfall between morning 8.30 am to 6.30 pm. KS Hosalikar, head of IMD Pune tweeted on Friday and said, "Rains likely to continue more or less with the same intensity." Waterlogging was seen at Dadar TT. Pic/ Atul Kamble
Waterlogging was also witnessed in several low-lying areas of the city due to heavy downpour. The Mumbai Traffic Police tweeted and said the Andheri subway had to be temporarily shut due to waterlogging. During this, the Traffic was diverted to Gokhale Road. A high tide of 4.25 metre was also expected at 1.46 pm in Mumbai and a low tide of 1.86 metre was likely to occur at 7.44 pm. Pic/ Atul Kamble
