The incident took place in a chawl along the railway tracks at 3pm, Thane Municipal Corporation regional disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said

According to the Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) of the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), the tree fall also caused damage to five houses apart from leaving two individuals injured including a 20-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman

Following the incident, the Disaster Management Unit officials acted promptly and the officials along with Tree Authority Department, Disaster Management Room staff, and the fire brigade rushed to spot for rescue and relief operations, the officials said

In the incident, two individuals sustained minor injuries and were identified as Durvesh Bhoir (20) and Manjusha Kevad (26). Durvesh Bhoir suffered injuries on his hand, leg, and stomach, while Manjusha Kevad sustained injuries to her head, left leg, and hand. Both injured persons were immediately taken to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, the officials said

In the incident, the five affected houses suffered damage mainly to its roofs, the officials said
