Shiv Sena (UBT) is set to play a significant role within the INDIA alliance, with plans to contest a majority of seats in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, according to sources.

Sources said that Congress-Shiv Sena seat sharing discussions primarily centered around the tactical inclusion of smaller political outfits, showcasing a concerted push to consolidate and strengthen their collective political presence in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, sources within the Congress party have said that the seat-sharing process within the Maha Vikas Aghadi is anticipated to be seamless, with an assurance that ticket distribution will be based on merit

Uddhav Sena, a faction of Shiv Sena, has asserted its claim to 23 Lok Sabha seats. Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena MP has expressed confidence in a collaborative effort between Congress and Shiv Sena, stating that they will jointly face the electoral challenges.

Amidst the ongoing seat-sharing talks, Sanjay Raut has asserted that the alliance is aiming to secure victory in as many seats as possible. The culmination of discussions between Congress and Shiv Sena regarding seat allocation has been reported, with Raut emphasizing the unity of purpose in the electoral battle.

Raut further stated that the Maha Vikas Aghadi is poised to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra

Raut said that all of the members of Maha Vikas Aghadi came out of the meeting with a smile. Maha Vikas Aghadi members- Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP, sat down to discuss seat-sharing. "I want to assure everyone that we will fight elections together. We have no differences about seat sharing...We discussed in detail about the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA)..."
