The SP is part of the opposition INDIA bloc and is looking to better its performance after its spectacular show in Uttar Pradesh in the recent Lok Sabha polls

The Samajwadi Party currently has only two MLAs in Maharashtra

While in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party won 37 out of 80 seats and its ally Congress won 6 seats
