Rains lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai Monday predicted that moderate spells of rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai

On Tuesday, the island city, eastern and western suburbs received an average rainfall of 7.37 mm, 23.01 mm and 21.01 mm, respectively, in the 10-hour period ending at 6 pm

Due to heavy  rainfall and water logging in various parts of the city, Mumbai reported over 100 per cent increase in leptospirosis cases within a week

According to the BMC monsoon-illness release, a comparison of the current week to the last week (i.e. 9-16 July), shows that only leptospirosis cases are on the rise this week
