Workers in Lalbag, Mumbai, are meticulously preparing traditional musical instruments such as tabla, dholak, mridang, ghumat, and taal for Ganesh Chaturthi.

These instruments play a crucial role in the rituals and celebrations, creating a vibrant atmosphere as devotees perform aartis and sing bhajans in honour of Lord Ganesha.

With Ganesh Chaturthi around the corner, Kirtikar Market in Dadar was bustling with activity with people going to the market for a shopping spree.

People were seen shopping for various items needed for the festival, including decorations, offerings, and pooja essentials.

The market is filled with a festive spirit as Mumbaikars prepare to welcome Lord Ganesha into their homes on September 7.

Kirtikar Market in Dadar is a popular shopping destination during Ganesh Chaturthi. The market offers a wide range of items, from idols of Lord Ganesha to decorative materials, making it a one-stop shop for festival preparations.

In another part of Dadar, Chabildas School Galli is also witnessing a surge in shoppers preparing for Ganesh Chaturthi.

This narrow lane, known for its small shops, is crowded with people buying everything from pooja items to festive decorations, showcasing the neighbourhood’s deep-rooted connection to the festival.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 will commence on September 7 and will be celebrated until Anant Chaturdashi.

The festival culminates on Anant Chaturdashi, when the idols are carried in grand processions for immersion, symbolising the return of Lord Ganesha to his celestial abode.

Maharashtra, particularly Mumbai, is renowned for its grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, where processions and pandals play a central role in the festivities.

The most auspicious time to perform the Ganesh Chaturthi puja on September 7 is during the Madhyahna period, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
