Mumbai on Sunday witnessed high tides on Marine Drive. The city will witness a minimum of 22 days of high tides during the monsoon

As stated by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in its weather update, Mumbai experienced a high tide of 3.79 metre at 6:28 pm.

According to the BMC weather report, the city will experience a low tide of 1.12 meter at 1:22 am on Monday. The civic body has also predicted a high tide of 3.76 metre at 8:15 am and a low tide of 2.17 metre at 1:53 pm on Monday.

According to the Disaster Management Department of the BMC, Mumbai will witness high tides for seven days in June and four days in July, five days each August and six days in September.

The weather department, per the Mumbai weather update, had predicted that the maximum temperature in the city is likely to settle at 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be recorded at 25 degrees Celsius.

The weather agency had given a green alert to Mumbai city and suburban areas. Meanwhile, it had given yellow alerts to Thane, Raigad and Palghar areas. 

The island city recorded 17.64 mm of rainfall, eastern Mumbai 28.38 mm and western Mumbai 23.54 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Sunday. 

On Friday, Mumbai had moderate to heavy rains, resulting in some tree falls, traffic jams, and suburban train delays.

The city experienced 24 occurrences of tree or branch falls, four short circuits and two wall collapses, but no one was injured, according to a civic disaster management department update.
