Amid heavy downpour in the city on Saturday, Marine Drive witnessed high tide during the day

Security arrangements were made by the police at Marine Drive for the safety of the visitors

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, in its weather update, had predicted that a high tide of roughly 3.69 metres at 4:39 pm

Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rains at regular intervals for past several days

In its weather update, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for the city and its suburbs. It said that the city was likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places

The Met Department, in its earlier weather update, stated, "Moderate to heavy rain in city and suburbs. Possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places"

Meanwhile, on Friday, the downpour had caused waterlogging in some low-lying areas of the city
