In Pelhar, Vasai East, a 30-year-old man died after an under-construction godown's wall collapsed.

Five persons sustained serious injuries in the aftermath of the collapse at an illegal construction site. 

The incident took place at Chaudhary Compound in Vakan pada, Pelhar, where unauthorised construction of godowns was underway. 

Labourer Dasrath Gopal Lahange lost his life in the accident that happened on Tuesday evening.

While Shailesh Shingada, Ramu Mage, Kalpesh Nadge, Bharat Dumada, and an unidentified person sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Apex Hospital.

Police officials stated that the wall collapse occurred around 5:30 pm at the compound. 

The victims were trapped under the debris after the wall collapsed while they were engaged in constructing illegal godowns inside the compound.

Fellow labourers rescued the injured and took them to the hospital. Unfortunately, Dashrath Lahange was declared dead upon arrival at Platinum Hospital.

Shockingly, the fire brigade team arrived at the scene three hours later, around 8 pm. The Municipal Corporation officials also arrived belatedly at the scene.

The officials of fire brigade faced challenges due to inadequate lighting and used mobile torches to search for trapped individuals amidst the rubble.
