With only three days to go for one of the most-celebrated festivals of the city, Mumbaikars have begun crowding marketplaces to shop for clothes, jewellery, dandiya sticks as well as puja items 

Dandiya and garba events witness a large participation from the youth, who take part in costume and dance contests

The markets in the city have donned a festive look and the sellers are hoping for a great festive season that will end after Diwali

Navratri has transformed into a celebration of glamour over the years

In recent years, Mumbai’s Navratri celebrations have strived to maintain a balance between tradition and modernity

Navratri has a major spiritual significance and a unique color association for each day  and wearing that particular color in your life during Navratri is considered auspicious

The first color of the Navratri is decided based on the weekday when Navratri begins and the remaining 8 days follow a fixed cycle of colors

This year, lehengas with modern shapes and patterns and Indo-Western fusion outfits are trending
