Holi, in the Hindu calendar, falls in the month of Phalgun - falling between February and March. People celebrate the day with colours, water, balloons and flowers with their families and friends. Children and adults smear Gulal and colours on each other and seek blessings from their elders

Holi is celebrated with much pomp across the country. It is one of the biggest festivals in India. The celebrations last for two days - beginning with Choti Holi or Holika Dahan, followed by Dhulandi

This year, in Mumbai, Holi is sure to be celebrated with greater abandon, post Covid-19. During the pandemic, initially festivities were cancelled or celebrated in an extremely sedate way

Huge crowds were seen boarding express trains at Diva railway station in Thane to visit their native places for the upcoming festival. Sources said, for Holi, this year, the Mumbai Traffic Police and the city cops have planned deployment of security in the city

The railways had earlier announced that it will be running special festive trains for Holi with special festive season fares
