Mumbai cyber cell's SIT arrested actor Sahil Khan in connection with the Mahadev betting app case after Bombay HC denied him anticipatory bail.

The SIT recently questioned Sahil Khan, known for his performances in films including as 'Style' and 'Excuse Me', over his involvement in the Mahadev betting app case.

The SIT is investigating alleged illegal transactions between financial and real estate firms in Maharashtra and the promoters of the Mahadev betting app. The scam, estimated at Rs 15,000 crore, forms the basis of the FIR filed by the Matunga police.

Khan's arrest follows an earlier arrest made by Mumbai police in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. A total of 32 individuals, including Khan, are currently under scrutiny.

While the Mumbai police focus on criminal aspects of the case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is probing potential money laundering activities related to the Mahadev betting app.

The Chhattisgarh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)/Economic Offence Wing (EOW) has also taken action against individuals allegedly involved in illegal operations linked to the Mahadev betting app.

Authorities are thoroughly investigating Khan's and the other persons' financial records, mobile phones, laptops, and technical equipment.

The Enforcement Directorate has already arrested nine individuals as part of its separate probe into the money laundering aspect of the Mahadev betting app case.
