The blaze was reported at commercial units near Star Hall at Khardi Road in Kausa area of Mumbra, Thane, the civic officials said

The disaster management cell officials and other civic staff along with fire brigade officials, rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire, the officials said

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident site, they said

The fire, which posed a significant threat to the surrounding area, was brought under control at approximately 06:00 hrs, the officials said

The situation was declared under control by 08:30 hrs, signifying the successful containment of the incident after a colling operation, the civic officials said

The fire was confined to at least four commercial units in the area which were severely damaged in the blaze. The authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, sources said
