The supporters of Manoj Jarange were detained in Mumbai on Saturday, September 21

Earlier in the day, the supporters of Jarange and OBC leader Laxman Hake confronted each other. The development comes amid the growing tension over separate hunger strikes by Jarange and Hake in Jalna district of Maharashtra

Hundreds of Maratha activists took out a two-wheeler rally, passing through the protest site of Hake in Wadigodri village and raising slogans, promptly countered by members of OBC communities

On Wednesday, September 19, Jarange had asked the Maharashtra government to fulfill the demands of the Maratha community in four days

Manoj Jarange said that if the demands of the Maratha community were not fulfilled, the government shall face consequences in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections

On Tuesday, September 17, Manoj Jarange had launched a fresh indefinite fast, the sixth in a span of over a year, to press the demand of reservations for the Marathas under OBC category

Jarange has demanded that the cases registered against several members of the Maratha community during his agitation earlier be withdrawn
