Imminent verdict on Shiv Sena disqualification plea by Rahul Narwekar is extremely important since it will have a significant impact on Maharashtra politics

The cross-petitions filed by Shiv Sena groups trying to disqualify each other's MLAs stemmed after a severe internal schism inside the party, which had a direct impact on the stability of the administration.

The outcome of this verdict will decide the destiny of the Eknath Shinde administration and can substantially alter power dynamics within the party and the state.

The case has seen its fair share of legal battles, with the Supreme Court intervening on several occasions, extending deadlines and discussing the issues concerning the Maharashtra political crisis.

Previous Supreme Court decisions highlighted the inability to disqualify the Shinde-led government and reinstate Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister since he tendered his resignation without undergoing the floor test.

The Shiv Sena dispute case was heard by a Constitution bench matter presided by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut meanwhile made accusations of match-fixing and alleged that PM Modi has foreknowledge of the verdict and thus is visiting Maharashtra on Thursday.

Raut said that match-fixing will happen in Maharashtra today at 4 pm. The Maharashtra Chief Minister (Eknath Shinde) is illegally running the government. For us, that is a crime. He is an accused, he added.

The implications of this verdict extend beyond party politics; it could determine the legitimacy of the current government and set a precedent for future governance.

Amidst these developments, the public is left in suspense, waiting for a decision that not only impacts the state's political future but also questions the transparency and fairness of the process.
