As we enter the last month of monsoon, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted 'moderate to heavy rainfall' in Mumbai, Thane and other parts of Maharashtra for the next 3-4 days. IMD has issued an orange alert for the Palghar region and forecasted extremely heavy rain till September 15. Keeping this in mind, there is likely to be waterlogging and will have an adverse impact on traffic in the city. Pic/Satej Shinde

A yellow alert has been issued for Nagpur, Wardha, Gondia, Amravati, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli etc. districts. Yellow alert generally signals authorities to 'be aware' of the danger. As per the IMD forecast, the fishermen community have also been told to avoid the South-Maharashtra coast till September 14 due to the possibility of heavy rain. Pic/Shadab Khan
