Juhu beach is one of Mumbai's most popular coastal spots for visitors
Plastic bottles, food wrappers, and other debris were seen spread across the beach, creating a stark contrast to the usually clean beach
The types of trash that washed ashore included hundreds of single-use plastics and other non-biodegradable materials
Meanwhile, Mumbai has been witnessing rains since last week and on Monday, the BMC said that moderate rain in city and suburbs. There was also possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places towards evening/night
The civic body said that a high tide of 3.52 meter was expected at around 5:46 pm on Monday
The BMC said that a low tide of 2.30 meter was expected at around 12:15 pm on Monday and the next low tide of 1.21 meter was expected at was expected at 12:43 am
The authorities launched a massive clean up drive and the civic workers were seen sorting and collecting the waste to restore the beach's natural beauty
