Mumbai experienced a high tide today at Marine Drive on Thursday. The high tide could impact coastal areas and waterfronts.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai and its suburbs.

According to IMD's forecast, Mumbai can expect a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of rain. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 34 degrees C and 29 degrees C respectively, indicating a relatively warm day with chances of rainfall.

IMD has provided details about the tide schedule for Mumbai. A high tide was expected on Thursday at 12.05 pm and is later expected at 11.48 pm, with varying heights. 

The IMD's Pune centre chief announced the arrival of the southwest monsoon in Maharashtra, including parts of Konkan like Ratnagiri and Solapur. 

Besides Mumbai, IMD has issued forecasts for areas like Sangli, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Nashik, and Ahmednagar. These regions may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and moderate spells of rain, along with gusty winds.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light spells of rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Jalgaon, Dhule, Jalna, Nandurbar, Thane, Palghar during the next 3-4 hours, IMD had said.

IMD has advised residents to take precautions while moving out, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. 

Precautionary measures can help mitigate risks associated with adverse weather conditions, said IMD and advised citizens to watch before stepping out.
