Mumbai and surrounding areas on Saturday morning saw intermittent moderate to heavy showers that led to waterlogging in some areas of the city.

The downpour was met with gusty winds that even caused a man's umberella to flip and break.

Meanwhile, vegetable vendors pushed their handcarts even as the rains continued their onslaught.

Meanwhile, visuals from the Dadar's Sena Bhavan showed that the visibility was also impacted due to the heavy downpour.

Mumbai and the metropolitan region is seeing heavy rain after a couple of days of slight lull in the intensity of the downpour.

The IMD, which had earlier given a yellow alert, revised to an orange alert demarcating that the city and suburbs will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The IMD has issued a nowcast warning for the Mumbai suburban and said heavy spells of rain over the next 3-4 hours.

The IMD has issued a nowcast warning, urging residents to stay alert and take precautions against the adverse weather conditions.

Pune's Ghat areas are likely to receive heavy spells of rain in the next few hours, according to the IMD.

The nowcast warning advises residents and commuters in these areas to prepare for potentially hazardous conditions.

Meanwhile, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and moderate rain with gusty winds reaching 30-40 km/h are expected in Ahmednagar, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Dhule, Satara, Kolhapur, Nanded, Hingoli, and Thane districts.

A similar warning was given for Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Beed, Jalna, Latur, and Dharashiv districts.

These districts are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning and light rain, along with gusty winds reaching 30-40 km/h, IMD said.
