Officials reported that there was an explosion at the factory, causing thick smoke to billow from the site.
No casualties were reported at the chemical factory which is in the same vicinity of Dombivli MIDC as the chemical factory where a blast on May 23 claimed 10 lives.
Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency, deploying three fire engines and an ambulance to the site.
Despite challenges, firefighting operations were underway to contain the blaze and prevent its spread to nearby structures.
The cause of the fire remained unknown at the time of the incident. Authorities, including the chief of the disaster management cell, Dipak Nikam, stated that investigations into the cause would be conducted to determine the origin of the fire.
DCP Kalyan, Sachin Gunjal, provided an update on the situation, confirming that the fire had affected an adjacent chemical factory as well.
Efforts were being made to douse the flames, with the entire area evacuated to facilitate firefighting operations.
