Mumbai traffic police issued new traffic restrictions ahead of Aashadi Ekadashi, closing several routes in Wadala and Dadar from July 16 to July 18

The traffic regulations were effective from July 16 at 7 pm and will continue till 8 am on July 18

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday performed puja at a temple in Pandharpur town of Solapur district on the occasion of 'Ashadhi Ekadashi'

Lakhs of 'warkaris' (devotees of Lord Vitthal) congregated in Pandhapur from different parts of Maharashtra and neighbouring states for the celebration

On the auspicious day of Ashadhi Ekadashi, PM Modi wished for the day and prayed for the blessings of Lord Vitthal to build a society filled with joy and prosperity

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to social media platform 'X' to extend his wishes for the day
