Top leaders in Maharashtra including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis & Union Minister Nitin Gadkari cast their votes in Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase 1

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was one among the early birds in Nagpur to exercise his franchise and he urged others to cast their ballots too. 

After casting his vote from Nagpur, Nitin Gadkari, who had won by a margin of over 2 lakh votes, expressed confidence that he would win again.

Meanwhile, Praful Patel, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar, cast his vote in Maharashtra's Gondia. 

Speaking after casting his vote in Gondia, Patel said that PM Modi has fulfilled the promises of various schemes he made over the past decade, contributing to the country's progress.

World's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge, too was spotted at the polling station in Nagpur; she too urged everyone to cast their votes. 

Voting for five constituencies in Maharashtra in Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 took place today.

The constituencies are Chandrapur, Gadchiroli-Chimur, Nagpur, Bhandara-Gondia and Ramtek which are in the Vidarbha region of the state. 

The elections in the state will be held in five phases which will culminate on May 20 with polling in over 10 constituencies. 

Till 3 pm, 44.7 per cent of the 95 lakh eligible voters cast their ballots in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region where polling was underway.
