Speaking on the occasion, Sawant said that for the last one and a half years, no development work was done in his ward and added that he is publicly joining the Shiv Sena
Sawant said that the number of corporators who have joined Shiv Sena has now increased to 33 out of which 25 belong to the Sena UBT. "If it is not possible to do the work of the voters who elected them, if the development works are not done, what will the corporators do.."? This is why many corporators have decided to join Shinde led Shiv Sena.
Meanwhile referring to the Opposition India bloc meeting in Mumbai, Shinde said the opposition had come together in 2014 and 2019. But still they were not able to defeat Narendra Modi. He expressed his belief that Narendra Modiji will be the Prime Minister even after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Shinde said that his party is ready to participate in the elections when ever they are held.
Others who joined the Shinde-led faction of the Shive Sena include Shivajirao Adharao Patil and Charanraj Chavare.
