In Photos: CM Eknath Shinde reviews Integrated Traffic Management System for Mumbai

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday reviewed the Integrated Traffic Management System for Mumbai to relieve common Mumbaikars from the traffic jams in the city. While addressing a meeting at Varsha bungalow, along with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, CM Shinde said that 'an alternative to double-decker tunnel for Mumbai is the need of the hour'.

The meeting followed a detailed discussion about the increasing traffic in Mumbai, its solutions and priority for public transport, an official release said.

The release further said that an implementation of 'multi-modal integrated transportation network through tunnels was also discussed during the meeting.'

Discussions were held on reducing traffic congestion by connecting the MMRDA area through an integrated transport system, the release said.

MLA Rajendra Patni, Municipal Commissioner I S Chahal, MMRDA Commissioner Srinivasan, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, P. Velarasu and others were present during the meeting.
