After Anant Chaturthi celebrations, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) took swift action to clean up several beaches across the city including Juhu Beach.

The clean-up drive is part of their routine maintenance following major festivals, ensuring the beaches are restored to their usual condition.

Meanwhile, a similar clean-up drive was conducted at Versova beach which was supported by prominent figures including Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis' wife Amruta Fadnavis, MLA Bharti Lavekar and actor Ayushmann Khurrana.

They participated in the 'Sea Shore Shine' initiative and helped in cleaning the beach to assist with the aftermath of the celebrations.

On Anant Chaturthi, more than 37,000 Ganesh idols were immersed across Mumbai’s various water bodies.

This includes both household and public idols, with a substantial number also immersed in artificial ponds to mitigate pollution in natural bodies.

Over 24,000 police personnel were deployed across Mumbai for security and crowd management during the immersion processions.

The BMC set up 204 artificial ponds to accommodate idol immersion and prevent pollution of natural water sources.

Additionally, they established 71 control rooms, stationed 761 lifeguards, and deployed 48 speed boats at beaches for safety.

To monitor the immersion processions, drones were used for aerial surveillance at key sites like Girgaon Chowpatty and Juhu Beach. The police also monitored the area using footage from over 8,000 CCTV cameras to ensure smooth operations.

Traffic police, numbering over 2,500, were deployed to manage vehicle movement during the immersion processions. Some roads were closed, and others were made one-way or diverted to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic.

To accommodate the large number of devotees returning home after the festivities, Western and Central Railways ran special late-night trains.
