Rahul Gandhi triggered a row when he said the leaders of the ruling party are not Hindus as they engage in "violence and hate" round the clock

His remarks drew massive protests from the members of the treasury benches, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing Gandhi of calling the entire Hindu community violent

His remarks came during a discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address to a joint sitting of Parliament

PM Modi intervened during Gandhi's speech and said calling the entire Hindu society violent was a serious issue. However, Gandhi retorted, saying that "the BJP and the RSS are not the entire Hindu society"

The Congress leader further emphasised that all religions talk about courage, citing Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism to underline the importance of fearlessness

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at Rahul Gandhi over his remarks and said calling "the entire Hindu community violent is a very serious matter"

BJP President JP Nadda demanded an apology from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in Lok Sabha alleging that he spoke "lies" and reflected "Hindu hatred" and that he has not learnt from the mandate of 2024 Lok Sabha polls

"First day, worst show! Lies + Hindu hatred = Rahul Gandhi Ji in Parliament. Third Time Fail LoP has a knack for agitated, flawed logic. His speech today has shown that neither has he understood the mandate of 2024 (his third successive loss) nor does he have any humility," JP Nadda posted on X

"Rahul Gandhi Ji must immediately APOLOGISE to all Hindus for terming them as violent. This is the same person who was telling foreign diplomats that Hindus are terrorists. This intrinsic hate towards Hindus must stop," he added
