All concerned Joint/Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Heads of Departments of BMC were also present in the meeting

The meeting was attended by General Manager of BEST Undertaking Lokesh Chandra, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Ashwini Bhide, Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Ashish Sharma, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) P. Velarasu, Mumbai Suburban District Collector Rajendra Bhosale, Joint Commissioner of Traffic Police Praveen Padwal and other senior officials of the civic body

The directions were given during a review meeting held under the chairmanship of the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal. The District Disaster Management meeting was held at BMC Headquarters on Tuesday to discuss the issues and review the preparations in the wake of the upcoming Monsoon

To ensure the smooth operation of suburban train services, the Railway and BMC successfully coordinated during last year's Monsoon. Micro-tunneling and cleaning of culverts within the railway limits were carried out effectively. Additionally, measures were taken to prevent waterlogging at vulnerable areas, including underground water storage tanks. As a result, there was no disruption in railway and road traffic. Thus, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal directed all departments and agencies to expedite coordination to mitigate the possible challenges during the Monsoon

Chahal has also directed the Garden Department to complete the tree trimming in the railway premises by the end of May
