At the launch of the event, Maharashtra Excise Minister Shambhuraj Desai asked officials in transport and police departments to take innovative and practical steps to improve road safety.

Desai also advised parents to ensure their young children are well aware of traffic rules before giving them vehicles to drive.

At the launch, Jackie had a light moment with the police officials and children. He also posed with posters on road safety, advising people to abide by the traffic rules.

Highlighting some recent road accidents involving state politicians, Desai said drivers alone cannot be blamed for accidents.
