IN PHOTOS: 42-year-old visually impaired woman rescued after being trapped between train and platform

The trains were crowded on Sunday, too, owing to a mega block on the Central line

As passengers rushed to board the Mumbai local train, a woman was trapped between the train and the platform

Some passengers saw her and immediately alerted the railway police personnel

As the woman was visually impaired, she was finding it more difficult to get herself out

The railway police and other staff members reached the spot and began helping the woman

Some passengers also helped the railway police in rescuing the woman

They were joined by more police personnel

The woman was successfully pulled out of the tracks

The railway staff provided her with medical aid and ensured that she did not suffer any grievous injury

After the incident, GRP officers at the station began assisting visually impaired passengers board the locals amid the Sunday rush 

The passenger, 42-year-old Maya Rao, with Government Railway Police Constable Pramod Kadam, Ticket Inspectors (Mumbai Central Railway) Dhananjay Yadav and Suraj Halde, and Railway Protection Force CT Sanjay Saini and other officials
