The match is the first semi-finale clash of the ongoing ICC Men's Circket World Cup 2023.
Ahead of the match, cricket aficionados gathered at the Marine Drive promenade near Wankhede stadium to cheer on their favourite 'Men in Blue'.
Many came dressed in myriad clothing featuring colours of the Indian tricolour and blue jerseys as they expressed their confidence in team India.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police have beefed up the security to ensure no untoward incident takes place.
Some fans brought with them sculptures of the World Cup trophy, bats and what not along with them.
Additionally, a group of fans reached Mumbai for the match from Ayodhya; they took the journey to the city on foot.
The fans turned up with creative placards cheering on for team India while some brought special props for Virat Kohli.
Dubbed India's 'Run Machine', Kohli is just one century away from becoming the first batsman in cricket history to score 50 ODI tons. With it, he will also be levelling Virender Sehwag's record as an Indian batsman to score the most number of centuries against New Zealand which is six.
New Zealand has previously won the 2015 and 2019 World Cup and will certainly be aiming to reach their third successive World Cup final.
On the other hand, India is looking forward to overcoming the hurdle which has prevented them from winning a major ICC title since 2013 and that too against the team which gave them most trouble in must-win matches.
