Data collated from the 22 monitoring stations in Mumbai stated only one area, Sion, reported 'poor' air quality with an AQI of 225 on October 26. The majority of other areas registered AQI levels in the 'moderate' category.

Navi Mumbai and Thane, both adjacent to Mumbai, also reported 'moderate' air quality levels with AQIs of 186 and 154, respectively, around 8 am.

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) noted that Borivali (East) in Mumbai exhibited the least pollution, with an AQI reading of 94, indicating relatively cleaner air in this part of the city.

The data further revealed that the most prominent pollutant in Mumbai is PM2.5 and O2, while in Thane, it's PM10 and O3. In Navi Mumbai, the leading pollutants are PM2.5 and PM10.

Despite the majority of Navi Mumbai's AQI falling within the 'moderate' category, some specific areas, such as Sanpada and Kalamboli, reported 'poor' air quality, with AQIs reaching 204 and 233, respectively.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) scale categorizes air quality as follows: 'good' (0-50), 'satisfactory' (51-100), 'moderate' (101-200), 'poor' (201-300), 'very poor' (301-400), and 'severe' (401-500).

Temperature-wise, Mumbai was expected to see a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday. The weather outlook could contribute to the overall air quality conditions in the region.
